Checking a token before interacting: a practical checklist

Start with the contract address obtained from an official project source. Names and tickers are easy to copy, so searching only by a token symbol does not establish authenticity.

Check the network, contract age, holder distribution, liquidity and ability to sell. Heavy concentration among a few addresses increases the risk of sudden market pressure.

When connecting a wallet, read permissions carefully. An unlimited token allowance creates a lasting risk, especially on an unknown website.

Urgency, guaranteed returns, requests for an extra withdrawal fee and demands for a seed phrase are strong scam indicators.
